On Friday, February 1, at the Bel Air home of Fred and Nadine Rosen, The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM) welcomed philanthropists and supporters to its Purple Evening soiree to benefit its ongoing efforts to raise awareness of women’s increased risk for Alzheimer’s and educate the public.

The HBO-sponsored event kicked off with an introduction by Tony- and Academy Award-winning actor Marcia Gay Harden — whose mother is battling Alzheimer’s disease — and featured live discussions with WAM founder Maria Shriver; Dr. Jill Goldstein of the Women, Heart and Brain Global Initiative; and Dr. Joshua Grill, the director of the UC Irvine Institute UCI MIND.

Maye Musk, Andie Macdowell, Kelly Wearstler, Bernadette and Sugar Ray Leonard, and others enjoyed a performance by singer Annie Basco. Guests sipped specialty cocktails, such the evening’s signature purple martini.
