Malibu’s serene sunset views and crashing waves served as the idyllic backdrop for The Surfrider Foundation’s inaugural fundraiser, presented by Ted Baker London and KROQ on Saturday, September 19. In an effort to preserve the beloved coast against threats like pollution and erosion, guests from surfers Kelly Slater, Laird Hamilton and Leah Dawson to actors Sam Waterston and Laura Dern gathered at the home of music executive Rob Wells for an intimate dinner and auction. The evening’s entertainment was provided by way of beachy tunes from deejay and big wave surfer DJ Keala Kennelly and a live performance from Portugal. The Man of the short film We Are Surfriders. Auction highlights included coveted items like a Chanel surfboard, a trip to New York Fashion Week with Rag & Bone, a private excursion in Santa Barbara with surfer Shaun Tomson and swimming with dolphins in Kona with writer Susan Casey.
