On Wednesday, February 20, more than 250 invitees flocked to MASS Beverly in West Hollywood to be the first to see “The Brilliance of Design,” the interior design showroom’s new collaborative exhibit with Swarovski.

The showcase — curated by MASS Beverly co-founder Mary Ta — spotlights special crystal (aka lead glass) creations including Crystal Palace LED-lit chandelier designs by the likes of Yves Behar, Vincent van Duysen and Tord Boontje; archival fashion and jewelry pieces, among them a tiger blouse crafted by the late Alexander McQueen; a large fragment of the 2018 Oscars’ on-stage Proscenium installation; and much more.

Ta and Swarovski executive board member Nadja Swarovski welcomed guests including Emily Deschanel, Kris Brock and Sami Hayek to the space that evening for cocktails and conversation amid the crystal works, with music by DJ Mathieu Schreyer.

The celebrations continued the following day with a luncheon and special panel discussion with Nadja Swarovski, Boontje and MASS Beverly co-founder Lars Hypko, mediated by Architectural Digest’s West Coast editor, Mayer Rus. The speakers discussed everything from the crystal manufacturer’s Hollywood history (yes, those were Swarovski crystals on Audrey Hepburn’s tiara in Breakfast at Tiffany’s) to the soon-to-launch Swarovski home surfaces collection, available exclusively through MASS Beverly.

“The Brilliance of Design” will be on view through May.
