Pomellato
Tilda Swinton hosted a cocktail party celebrating the opening of Pomellato’s Beverly Hills boutique (320 N. Rodeo Dr., B.H., 800-254-6020). For the Milanese jewelry brand, this is the first—and largest worldwide—west coast location. While guests sipped champagne and browsed the latest collections, the Oscar winner took a moment to talk to us about everything from her fashion picks to her favorite L.A. haunt.
First off, who made this pajama-inspired suit you are wearing tonight?
This is Lanvin. And feel these [lifting the Pomellato “Tango” diamond necklaces from her neck].
You have been Pomellato’s brand ambassador since 2010 and are now designing a ring together. Any hints?
We really complement each other well. [The ring] is still in the works, but it will be in line with their look. What I love about [the brand’s] jewelry is that it looks like jewelry for kids. It looks like candy you have sucked on for so long, the sharp edges are gone. The rings are like candy.
When you are in L.A., are there any spots you have to visit?
When I have spare time, I must go to The Museum of Jurassic Technology [in Culver City]. You will see why when you go.
You designed a perfume with Etat Libre d’Orange in 2010 called Like This. Is it still your signature fragrance?
Yes. It’s such a light fragrance; only some people pick up on it, which is so interesting. Not many [people] have that gift. I don’t have it.
Do you follow any beauty rituals?
For my skin I do nothing. I don’t wear makeup. And Odile Gilbert in Paris cuts my hair.
