On Wednesday, April 13, tech mogul Sean Parker celebrated the launch of The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, a collaborative research effort connecting more than 40 laboratories nationwide, with a lavish gala at his sprawling estate in Holmby Hills. The event featured presentations by actors Bradley Cooper and Tom Hanks, an intimate dinner catered by Wolfgang Puck and a roster of musical performances by the likes of Lady Gaga, John Legend and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. An A-list crowd including Katy Perry and boyfriend Orlando Bloom joined the biggest names in tech and science in coming out to support this historic $250 million dollar contribution to the field of cancer research.
