Open Hearts Foundation Gala 2014
Open Hearts Foundation hosted its fourth annual gala on Saturday, May 10, at a private residence in Malibu. Host CNN’s Christi Paul helped honor five individuals for demonstrating the Open Hearts mission to give selflessly in the face of adversity including Retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, Derrick Hall founder of his eponymous Pro-State Cancer Foundation, co-founders Lauren Parsekian-Paul and Molly Thompson of the Kind Campaign, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley who has served as an advocate for patients and families dealing with dementia. Cheap Trick performed for guests including Jane Seymour, James Keach, Aaron Paul, and Julianne Hough, among others. Folk-rock group Delta Rae also played a set before Angelica Garcia sang, concluding the event which raised funds for the honorees’ chosen charities.
