Smooth shapes and etherial designs are the foundation of Brooklyn-based ceramicist Michele Quan’s latest works. With the collection’s opening on the day of peak sunlight, Tuesday, June 21, MQuan and fellow artists and creative consultants including director Patrick Brice, designer Trina Turk and her husband, Jonathan Skow (designer of Mr Turk), celebrated the opening of her month-long outdoor ceramic installation, “Landscape” at vintage-inspired furniture store Lawson-Fenning in West Hollywood. The bright orange accents and exotic designs of the works were perfectly complimented by the light of the Summer Solstice. Pieces including a stone table adorned with night sky constellations and larger-than-life hanging stone chains were just a few pieces from the ceramicists inspired, atmospheric installation.
