Over 600 advocates of visual arts, dance, music and literature filled the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for the 9th annual MOCA Distinguished Women in the Arts Luncheon on Wednesday, October 28. The museum’s Chief Curator Paul Schimmel and Director Philippe Vergne presented awards to MOCA Trustee Susan Gersh and New York-based artist Marilyn Minter for their leadership and efforts in the world of art. Mingling amidst the elegant banquet hall were guests like renowned conceptual artist John Baldessari as well as Alison Brie, Erin Foster, Camilla Belle and Marilyn Minter who lent their ears to a host of speakers and previewed a runway presentation of Michael Kors‘ Fall 2015 collection. The luncheon raised over $350,000 in funds, benefitting the MOCA’s growing educational and exhibition programs.
