The Museum of Contemporary Art hosted its eighth Distinguished Women in the Arts Luncheon on Wednesday, November 6, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, benefiting arts education. After event chair Ricki Ring and MOCA Projects Council President Louise Epstein greeted guests including Maria Arena Bell, Chris Burden, Liz Goldwyn, Poppy Delevingne, Kate Walsh, and Olga Kurylenko, actress Sharon Stone presented MOCA Awards to artists Lita Albuquerque, Helen Pashgian, Nancy Rubins, and Betye Saar. The hotel ballroom contained vitrines filled with jewelry and objects from collaborations between Paola Russo, of L.A.’s Just One Eye boutique, and a stable of artists she’s worked with to create unique designs. Russo also masterminded a high-flying fashion show with clothes presented on models who alternated between pointe shoes, modern steps, and breakdancing choreography.
