Irena and Mike Medavoy along with Town & Country hosted a cocktail party for actress and author Victoria Tennant to celebrate the launch of her new book, Irina Baronova and The Ballets Russes De Monte Carlo (University of Chicago Press) on Friday, November 7, at the MaxMara boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Guests got an exclusive peek at Tennant’s book which tells the story of the rise of modern ballet through the illustrious career of her mother, famed Ballets Russes dancer Irina Baronova. The intimate account includes family photographs, behind-the-scenes shots of rehearsals, and archival images of costumes and set designs. Guests paging through Tennant’s book encountered interviews and intimate letters that depict Baronova’s rise to stardom with the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo and later with Ballet Theater (now American Ballet Theater) in New York.
