Martell Caractère Cognac Launch
Actor Andy Garcia and Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouëtt’s Philippe Guettat co-hosted the launch of the French house’s new cognac, Martell Caractère, at the hilltop Paramour Mansion in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 10. The candle-lit four-and-a-half acre property and its Mediterranean revival architecture served as an ideal setting for the alfresco dinner paired with inventive cocktails (one called Le Vieux Carré included Absinthe and orange bitters). Guests including Diego Luna, China Chow, Claiborne Swanson Frank and James Frank, Rossen Crow, Shiva Rose, and Liz Goldwyn watched a preview of the footage Garcia is shaping into a short film about Cuban Mambo music pioneer Israel “Cachao” Lopez in collaboration with Martell. Kate Mara also turned up for the party with Max Minghella, star of the just-released video for The Killers‘ new song, “Shot At the Night.” Harley Viera-Newton spun during the cocktail hour, and, after dinner, Lou Doillon sang tracks from her new album, Places, as guests lit up Cuban cigars.
