Louis Vuitton + South Coast Plaza Boutique Unveiling
Befitting the excitement and effort that went behind the expansion of its store in South Coast Plaza, Louis Vuitton celebrated the unveiling of the Peter Marino-designed space with a cocktail party and an al fresco dinner that fused French savoir-faire and the California lifestyle.
On Thursday, September 27, an eclectic group of clients and influencers explored Louis Vuitton’s first in-store atelier and admired the colorful artworks, including Peter Dayton’s commissioned striped surfboard stretching more than 27 feet.
Then they moved from the Costa Mesa store to The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach. Under the open sky 175 guests—welcomed by Louis Vuitton chairman and chief executive officer Michael Burke—dined at long rows of tables overflowing with white flowers in front of the resort’s prized rotunda, which was aglow with the LV logo, like a lavish lighthouse 300 feet above the ocean.
The lights kept twinkling during the after-party, as guests danced to music spun by DJ Alex Merrell.
