LACMA Art + Film Gala 2015
Over 600 luminaries from the world of art, fashion and entertainment graced the red carpet at LACMA‘s fifth annual Art+Film Gala on Saturday, November 7. Honoring renowned artist James Turrell and Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the evening commenced with cocktails in the museum’s grand entrance, a performance from Kaki King featured in the multimedia show The Neck Is A Bridge to the Body, and an elegant seated dinner with special tributes to the night’s honorees. Museum Director Michael Govan took to the stage, alongside Co-chairs Leonardo DiCaprio and LACMA trustee Eva Chow, commending Turrell and Iñárritu for their distinguished roles in the realm of art and film. Among the supporters were famous celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Diane Kruger who also enjoyed a live performance from musical maestros Joe Walsh and T-Bone Burnett. The glamorous evening raised over $4 million, benefitting LACMA’s burgeoning exhibitions, programs and film initiatives.
