Sculptor Kathy Taslitz celebrated her newest work—a 9-foot-wide stainless steel Buddha—at a dinner hosted by Rosetta Getty, Brigette Romanek and Angelique Soave at Taslitz’s studio in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 5. Centered around the massive artwork, Let It Go, which Taslitz describes as embodying the transitory quality of life, the evening affair included a blessing from a Buddhist monk followed by an Asian-inspired dinner by Serves You Right! Catering, with dishes including sea scallops with gingered pea puree and glazed short rib on baby bao bun. Guests including Balthazar Getty, Cameron Silver, Shiva Rosa and Julia Sorkin were in attendance at the event and got first looks at the new sculpture inside Taslitz’s studio.
