J. Paul Getty Trust Honors Frank Gehry
The J. Paul Getty Trust President and CEO James Cuno presented influential architect Frank Gehry with the J. Paul Getty Medal on Monday, September 28. Over 350 guests arrived at the Getty Center in Brentwood to share in honoring the visionary who is responsible for creating Los Angeles’ Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Guggenheim Museum in Spain, to name a few. Louis Vuitton—whose Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris was designed by Gehry—presented the dinner that played host to attendees such as Mayor Eric Garcetti, Gustavo Dudamel and Anjelica Huston, amongst other elite members of the art, architecture, government, and business communities. Gehry now stands alongside previous winners of the award, Harold M. William and Nancy Englander, for his brilliantly innovative designs.
