Hermès + Chaine D’ancre Punk Fine Jewelry Exhibition
Punk is far from synonymous with Hermès, but the venerable French fashion house, whose classic designs and rich heritage continue to inspire designers the world over, is trying the edgy look on for size with its Chaine D’ancre Punk collection. The brand unveiled the 35-piece jewelry assortment, designed by creative director Pierre Hardy, at a private reception at its Beverly Hills boutique Wednesday night for a select group of guests, including stylists Jeanne Yang and Annina Mislin. Taking one of Hermès’ classic pieces from the 1930s, inspired by a ship’s anchor chain, and reimagining it as a safety pin (a classic emblem of the punk era), Hardy’s gold and silver articulation of the Chaine d’ancre link encompasses dynamic architectural rings, cuffs, earrings, brooches and necklaces that make for a sophisticated statement. The standout series, ranging in price from roughly $600 to $10,000, was previously on display in San Francisco, and will be on exhibit at the Rodeo Drive store until Oct. 28, before traveling to Houston in November. 434 N. Rodeo Dr., B.H., 310-278-6440; hermes.com.
