Hammer Museum K.A.M.P. 2016
Ringing in the 7th annual Kids’ Art Museum Project (K.A.M.P.), the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles welcomed nearly 1,000 guests for an art-filled, family fun day in support of the museum’s ongoing programs and exhibitions. Guests of all ages explored their creative side through hands-on art projects alfresco with artists such as Gabriel Kuri, Mattia Biagi, Michael Rey, Matt Johnson and Brian Sharp, while DJ Dan Konopka provided the tunes. The daytime affair featured a star-studded line-up of guest readers, including artist Eddie Ruscha, filmmaker Rob Minkoff, comedian Joel McHale and actors Colin Hanks, Greg Kinnear, Molly Sims and John Stamos who each read children’s books aloud to an audience of young listeners. But the Hammer Museum didn’t just bring out big names for the readings and arts and crafts. L.A.’s star chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo of Animal dished out the cuisine, while L.A. staple Sprinkles cupcakes capped off the event with sweet treats.
