There’s a reason why sunglasses have long been synonymous with Hollywood. The sun shines brighter here (as do the flashbulbs). Now artist Barbara Kruger—known for her photographs covered in declarative captions—has collaborated with Freeway Eyewear and ForYourArt on a pair of shades emblazoned with the phrase: Your gaze hits the side of my face. To herald the launch of the new frames, China Chow, Alex Israel, Jessica Kantor, Bettina Korek and Katherine Ross gathered friends for a party at Maxfield in Los Angeles on Wednesday, December 11. Guests put on the new specs as they took a look at the boutique’s current exhibition of Jean Prouvé furniture, Structure Nomade.
