Creatures of Comfort

To mark its return to the West Coast, California-born Creatures of Comfort unveiled its new Silver Lake space on October 19 with hosts Jenny Slate, Busy Philipps and founder Jade Lai. Fans of the fashion and lifestyle brand including Ioanna Gika, Jess Hannah and Clare Vivier mingled in the Sunset outpost, taking in the minimalist space designed by architect Felicia Martin and outfitted with furniture by Shinichiro Okuda. The outpost carries the Creatures of Comfort eponymous ready-to-wear line (which launched in 2010, the same year Lai debuted the brand’s New York outpost), as well as a carefully edited selection of clothing, beauty and home goods from up-and-comers such as Laura Urbinati, Leigh Miller, and Odacite. Following cocktails, guests departed to neighborhood mainstay Sawyer for a celebratory dinner.
