On Saturday, February 23, the eve of the 2019 Academy Awards, A-listers swarmed the Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel for the annual pre-Oscars dinner party thrown by Chanel and businessman and movie producer Charles Finch.

The 11th iteration of the high-profile fete welcomed filmmakers and Chanel-clad movie stars including Margot Robbie, Lupita Nyong’o, Carey Mulligan and Lucy Boynton to the iconic eatery, whose celebrated history is soaked in Old Hollywood glamour. Also in attendance was Roma director Alfonso Cuarón, who went on to win Oscars for best direction and cinematography at Sunday’s ceremony.

Guests toasted the nominees among them (Sam Rockwell and Richard E. Grant, to name a couple), and paid tribute to the French fashion house’s late creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away just days earlier at the age of 85.
