Caudalíe West Coast Flagship Opening
Founders Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas celebrated the opening of the West Coast flagship of their French-based skincare line Caudalíe on Abbot Kinney in Venice with a host of locals on March 12. Julianne Hough, Rashida Jones, Jena Malone, and Shiva Rose were all on hand for the party and joined guests to tour the new space. Small bites, wine and refreshing greens-filled shooters made the rounds as guests sampled the lotions and potions. The new spa and boutique includes the line’s wide variety skincare products all assembled at the beauty barrel bar, where wooden shelves hold the line’s naturally-derived products including anti-aging serums, brightening elixirs and hydrating oils. There’s also an intimate space for mani-pedis and a private room for treatments—crushed cabernet scrubs and grape blossom body treatments included. The products take inspiration from founders Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas’ family vineyard in Bordeaux—where the line was first launched in 1995—and have been available at Caudalie’s boutiques in New York, Brazil, France, London, and Hong Kong. Now, devotees can also find them in Los Angeles. When asked why the duo settled on Venice for the first West Coast boutique, Matilde laughed, “It’s the coolest.”
