A cocktail party was held in celebration of Bottega Veneta’s new larger location inside the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa on Thursday, February 13. Hosts Elizabeth Segerstrom, Keiko Sakamoto Witte, and Elizabeth An got a first look at the Italian fashion house’s spring ’14 collection of modern summer frocks just before the Bottega Veneta showed its sleek fall ’14 collection in Milan. The new 4,470-square-foot space designed by Creative Director Tomas Maier and filled with walnut tables and glass vitrines was complete with door handles covered in leather, a nod to the Italian fashion house’s roots. After all, the line’s woven leather bags, luggage, and leather goods have inspired legions of fans. In celebration of the opening, Bottega Veneta made charitable contributions to Friendship Shelter, Serving People in Need (SPIN), and Segerstrom Center for the Arts on behalf of Witte, An, and Segerstrom, respectively.
