Anthropologie held a dinner to celebrate the debut of A Denim Story: Inspirations from Bellbottoms to Boyfriends (Rizzoli) on Tuesday, March 11, at The Hart and The Hunter on Melrose in Los Angeles. Written and curated by designers and stylists Emily Current, Meritt Elliott, and photographer Hilary Walsh, the volume pays homage to blue jeans, and the significance of the quintessentially American contribution to the pantheon of fashion. A Denim Story includes ethereal images of women such as Jane Birkin, Patti Smith, Marilyn Monroe, and Cher all draped in denim. Similarly, sartorial enthusiasts including Jessica Alba, Mandy Moore, and Anthropologie’s chief marketing officer Susy Korb donned jean-inspired ensembles for the gathering.
