To honor the continued philanthropic work of Jennifer Hudson and Sofia Vergara, the Women’s Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) hosted “An Unforgettable Evening,” presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, on Tuesday, February 27.
The WCRF’s honorary chairs Rita Wilson, Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg joined the organization’s cofounders in welcoming Monique Lhuillier, Jennifer Meyer, Jessica Hart, Candace Nelson, Tamara Mellon and other distinguished guests to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where James Corden hosted the night’s awards show presentation.
Over dinner, Tom Ford presented Hudson with the Nat King Cole Award for her efforts toward women’s rights, and Wilson announced Vergara as the recipient of the 2018 Courage Award for her dedication to cancer research awareness, after which Pitbull performed an 11-song medley.
In all, the event raised more than $1.5 million for the WCRF, a program of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
