Creative Artists Agency hosted the 9th annual Angel Art auction which raised over a million dollars from live and silent auctions to benefit Project Angel Food. Over 300 guests including Margaret Steele, Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane, Darren Star, Maria Bell, Deborah McLeod, Shaun Regen and artists Case Simmons, Andrew Burke and Brenna Youngblood attended the event where Sotheby’s Principal Auctioneer Tobias Meyer led the live lots. Pieces like a rare commissioned portrait by Dave Muller, a fish lamp sculpture by Frank Gehry and a large enamel, acrylic and crystallina piece by Retna sold for more than their asking price. All of the proceeds raised will benefit Project Angel Food’s meal-delivery program which will generate 240,000 meals for men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
