On Tuesday, April 2, Parisian fashion house Maison Roger Vivier — whose namesake founder invented the stiletto heel in 1954 — turned a private Bel Air residence into a pink-hued boutique hotel to celebrate creative director Gherardo Felloni’s new Spring/Summer collection. Dubbed Hotel Vivier, the affair was hosted by brand ambassador and French style doyenne, Ines de la Fressange and featured vignettes of vintage California hotel life in each of its rooms; some models reclined in perfect-for-poolside wicker peacock chairs and on sumptuous silk-covered lounges, while others primped at retro-chic vanity tables. Each scene served as a tableau for new and iconic Vivier designs, from colorful springtime frocks to leather bags and shoes. The house’s most legendary design, the rather unassuming buckle-topped pump, was situated on pink pedestals throughout the “hotel,” garnering reverential glances from guests like Christina Ricci, Chanel Iman and Patricia Arquette.
