Bellosguardo Foundation Inaugural Soiree
The historic Bellosguardo Estate in Santa Barbara threw open its gates on Saturday, October 13, for the property’s first fete in more than 60 years. Guests donned elegant black tie and 1920s attire to sip vintage-inspired cocktails among the well-manicured gardens, fountains and orange trees in support of the mansion’s restoration.
The lavish art deco setting included outdoor vignettes comprised of crystal chandeliers, plush seating and extravagant white floral arrangements. Amid such splendor, guests were all abuzz about late American heiress Huguette Clark’s gift of the landmark property and the plans of the Bellosguardo Foundation to revive the grand estate and its grounds.
A live band, complete with a brass section, provided the evening’s entertainment, as singers and dancers—dressed to the nines in jewels, sequins, fringe and feathers—performed tap numbers and other choreographed routines as the sun set over the American Riviera.
Meanwhile, guests considered the silent auction items, all highly covetable opportunities to be among the first to host or enjoy private events at Bellosguardo: a no-expense-spared, multicourse gourmet dinner; a speakeasy-style experience in the estate’s Carriage House; and a private concert by Grammy winner Kenny Loggins for up to 30 guests on Bellosguardo’s great lawn.
