Gucci + Chef Massimo Bottura Celebrate Food + Philanthropy
With a scene as bright and bold as Alessandro Michele’s latest designs, Gucci America President and CEO Susan Chokachi mingled with a dazzling mix of L.A.’s fashion, music, art and design A-listers on Thursday, February 15, including Eric Buterbaugh, Jennifer Meyer, Guy Oseary, Jacqui Getty, Courtney Love, Sarah Hoover and Tom Sachs.
The private dinner was not to fete a new collection but to celebrate three-Michelin-star chef Massimo Bottura and his book Food is Gold (Phaidon, $40), which takes a holistic approach to food waste and features 65 recipes from the some of the world’s top chefs. Guests chatted while enjoying a meal prepared by Bottura at Christie’s Los Angeles in Beverly Hills. In honor of the book and evening, Gucci made a special donation to Food for Soul, an organization founded by Bottura that fights food waste to sustain social inclusion and well being. The iconic Italian label also lent support to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which mobilizes resources to combat hunger in local areas.
