Perfect Pairing: Emily Blunt + Forevermark
An exhibition like Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, which opened with the annual Costume Institute Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 2, in New York, encouraged guests to tap into a variety of futuristic looks. But, for many, innovative jewelry designs served as the most forward-leaning elements in their personal looks for the gala celebrating both handmade (couture) and machine-made examples of 20th- and 21st-century fashion. Case-in-point, Los Angeles-based actress Emily Blunt donned a blue Michael Kors gown with handmade lace, but embellished it with a handful of Forevermark machine-age designs including a diamond ear cuff by H.J. Namdar set in 18k white gold. The ear cuff, combined with a diamond stud earring designed by Leo Schachter and a Deco-inspired medallion ring created by Maria Canale and set with with round and baguette diamonds added a touch of modern robotic luster.
