Costume Designers Guild Awards 2016
A staple among award season celebrations, the Costume Designers Guild held its eighteenth annual awards dinner toasting excellence in film, television and short form costume design on Tuesday, February 23, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Honorees Cate Blanchett, Quentin Tarantino and Ellen Mirojnick were joined by actors like Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Kate Beckinsale at the landmark venue. Guests were treated to a cocktail reception, before sitting down for an elegant dinner and awards presentation, where Blanchett was honored with the Lacoste Spotlight Award, Tarantino with the Distinguished Collaborator Award and Mirojnick with the Career Achievement Award. This year’s best costume designers in film and television also received due recognition; Paco Delgado of The Danish Girl won in the Excellence in Period Film category, while Michele Clapton of Game of Thrones took home the award under Outstanding Fantasy Television Series, among many deserving others.
