California Beauty: Bella Heathcote
“Bella wore a beautiful lace dress reminiscent of wild times in the 1980s,” said makeup artist Kate Lee of the Dolce & Gabbana look from the Italian fashion house’s spring 2016 collection that actress Bella Heathcote wore to the premiere of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies on Thursday, January 21 in Los Angeles. “We wanted to make her beauty look a little more casual, so I went for a rouge noir smoked eye with a soft pink lip,” she added. Using Chanel makeup, Lee gave the actress who plays the role of the sedate and achingly good sister, Jane Bennet, the sort of vampy eye her character might hope to wear but wouldn’t actually dare to don while hunting the undead.
FACE
“I prepped Bella’s skin with Hydra Beauty Sérum,” explained Lee. ” I used Vitalumiére Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 to even out the complexion and added a little highlighter to the tops of the cheek bones. Just under the cheekbones I used Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick in N°20,” Lee added.
EYES
“For the eye, I started with a line inside and along the upper and lower lash line with Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil in Rouge Noir. I then took the corresponding shade from the Limited Edition Quadra Eyeshadow in Signe Particulier and blended out with a particular focus on the outer third of the upper lash line,” said Lee. “Next, I took Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Rouge Noir and a soft domed brush and used the shimmer to melt away the dark shade into the socket. A quick curl of the lashes and a coat of Inimitable Mascara in Noir completed the eye,” Lee added.
LIPS
“On the lips,” said Lee, “Is Rouge Coco Stylo Complete Care Lipshine in Conte for a subtle pink hue.”
