China cabinets are getting an overhaul this holiday season now that Paola Russo’s Los Angeles boutique, Just One Eye, has introduced home decor designer Sami Hayek’s new line of porcelain. In addition to dinner, salad, and dessert plates as well as chargers, the Nonversation line includes soup bowls and a serving plate, but the real draw is a full tea set with a pitcher and creamer as well as espresso cups. The made-in-Italy collection has been put through a three-step firing process, and every piece includes hand brushed gold around cup brims and plate rims. The philosophy behind the designs of naked women, mushrooms, and other motifs sure to spark tête-à-têtes, is based on images that for Hayek symbolize freedom, beauty, and peace. Consider the set a surefire conversation starter.
