“One hundred percent beauty doesn’t exist. Beauty is only about imperfections,” says filmmaker and photographer Sonia Sieff, daughter of French lensman Jeanloup Sieff (known for his portraits of Catherine Deneuve, Yves Saint Laurent, as well as shot of dancers in motion) in a short work she shot this fall for Tod’s. In the film, Sieff turned her cameras on a cadre of women with an independent streak who are all clad in Tod’s Wave bag. Each woman carries the leather design with a removable strap in her own way, one that suits her chosen profession as an artist, musician, model, actress or some combination of the four occupations. Sieff captured the unique quirks of each participant, from California-based artist and model Langley Fox, to singer Chelsea Tyler, to Italian model twins Giulia and Camilla Venturini. In these starkly shot images, they’re all with the band.
