“It almost feels like being at a luxury summer camp for people in the movie business, celebrities, and models,” recounts designer and stylist Erica Pelosini, of her recent visit to France for the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival. During the trip, Pelosini stayed at 117-room seaside property, Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc. “You can easily start your morning playing tennis with one of the movie producers talking about an upcoming premiere at the Palais de Festival, or tanning poolside with Sienna Miller.” Here, she gives a quick rundown of her favorite hotel in town, where to eat, and a few fashion notes (including who wore one of her designs), and insight from the final night at the festival.

STAY

HOTEL DU CAP EDEN ROC Built originally as a private mansion, it opened as a hotel in 1870 and has been a favorite of the Kennedy family, Marlene Dietrich, Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor, and writers including Fitzgerald and Hemingway. It was our first choice when we heard that the French Maison Dior decided to move their show to South of France. I love how private the hotel is even though it’s always fully booked. You can enjoy a massage outdoors at the spa, do a yogalates class, or go for a walk around the property. The view from the suites is spectacular. In the evening you can just go downstairs, and there is always a party going on.”

DINE

RESTAURANT TETOU One of my favorite dinner destinations. It’s a very cozy traditional French restaurant on the beach that hosted all the fashion soiree’s this year, starting with Dior, and ending with Vanity Fair and Chanel.

EDEN-ROC GRILL & BAR Lunch here is like the ‘mensa,’  where you end up knowing everybody and switching tables. Only difference? You get to enjoy some of the best fresh fish or a delicious lobster salad!

FROM PELOSINI’S NOTEBOOK:

Cannes ended with one of the week’s hottest party tickets, with events including the AmFar Cinema Against AIDS, with a host of faces from film and fashion who came to raise awareness for the cause. (Thanks to Carine Roitfeld, who staged a black-and-white-themed fashion show for the occasion.) For the evening, Fawaz Gruosi, Creative Director and owner of De Grisogono, chose my jewelry to pair with a fabulous Roberto Cavalli gown.
