Scene and Heard: Rosamund Pike
“There wasn’t a week went by when I didn’t come home from set saying I can’t do this, I’m never going to be as good as I want to be,” said Rosamund Pike, accepting the Breakthrough Performance Award for an actress for Gone Girl from her co-stars Carrie Coon and Kim Dickens at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala on Saturday, January 3. Pike, in a printed Alexander McQueen trapeze dress, said she thought to herself, “After this movie wraps I’m going to find a different career.” But Pike said she felt heartened by the acknowledgement for her role as Amy Dunne, the missing wife at the center of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel about a particularly fraught modern marriage directed by David Fincher. Luckily for her fans, Pike has two more upcoming thrillers in the works, and she’s sticking with her chosen career.
