The Kohn Gallery invited guests to the opening reception of Mark Ryden’s The Gay 90s: West on Saturday, May 3 at its new Highland Avenue space in Hollywood. Known for his fantastical subject matters, Ryder depicts the nostalgia of 1890s America through neoclassical painting techniques. The inaugural reception allowed guests a first look at the space designed by Malibu-based architect Lester Tobias featuring large windows and plenty of natural light. Guests including Frances Cobain, Leonardo DiCaprio, Patricia Arquette, Tyler Okonma (Tyler the Creator), and Azure Parsons observed Ryder’s work and explored the new gallery during the intimate gathering.
