Rebels With a Cause 2014 Gala
Jimmy Kimmel provided color as he served as emcee for the second annual Rebels Without A Cause Gala held at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood on Thursday, March 20, that brought together more than 500 entertainment, medicine, and technology luminaries to honor Oracle‘s Larry Ellison and benefit two USC cancer research centers. The event supported Dr. David Agus, and his work at the USC Center for Applied Molecular Medicine and the USC Westside Cancer Center. Kimmel welcomed Pharrell Williams to the stage for a performance of his Oscar-nominated song, “Happy.” Barry Manilow also performed “I Made It Through The Rain,” and two other hits, and guests including Jerry Bruckheimer, Isla Fischer, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jonah Hill, Chris Pine, and John Stamos were also on hand for the event. Funds were raised for a new research center for Agus, and Ellison announced that he would match all pledges, bringing the evening’s total to $9 million.
