Elyse Walker held The Pink Party 2013, her annual fundraiser for the women’s cancer program at Cedars-Sinai’s Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, hosted by Anne Hathaway, on Saturday, October 19 at Hangar:8, in Santa Monica. The ninth annual outdoor bash with over 800 guests including Dr. Beth Y. Karlan, Poppy Delevingne, Kate Beckinsale, Len Wiseman, Francis Fisher, Francesca Eastwood, Maria Bello, Jessica Capshaw, and Rachel Zoe, raised over $1.7 million for the institute. After an introduction from Hathaway, Karlan discussed the organization’s recent achievements. “We’re making strides in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, we’re on the verge of another golden age of discovery,” said Karlan. The evening included a live auction with work by Los Angeles-based artist Retna, and a fashion show with looks from fall ’13 and spring ’14 collections by designers Barbera Bui, Chloé, J. Mendel, KaufmanFranco, Matthew Williamson, Lanvin, and Valentino. Pink bags, jewelry, and décor were visible throughout the venue, and guests sipped rosé and snacked on Pink’s hot dogs and Pink Bavarian cupcakes—the handiwork of Baked by Melissa—as DJ Skinnie manned the turntables well into the midnight hour.
