The Rug Company S.F. Opening Party
San Francisco’s burgeoning Jackson Square just received yet another modish tenant: The Rug Company. Following the success of its newly minted showroom in Los Angeles, the esteemed rug purveyor—known for its imitable blend of Old World artisanal craftsmanship with modern, innovative designs—feted the opening of its glimmering new Bay Area boutique with a cocktail soiree on Thursday, November 17. Design world heavyweights and fans like Gary Hutton, Mimi Delin and Martyn Lawrence Bullard (whose own collaboration of weavings with the brand hang proudly in the new store), convened with the company’s international team inside the outpost’s historic and beautifully conserved Belli Building. Attendees toured the high-design space, where a fresh batch of offerings are right at home amid panel moldings, marble elements, brass frames and parquet flooring. In addition, the airy locale will feature collaborations from a roster of respected international designers (past capsule collections include Diane von Furstenberg, Kelly Wearstler and Alexander McQueen), along with the brand’s first-ever in-store iPads and interactive digital screens where clientele can seek inspiration and explore the new Custom Rug Designer app.
