Net-a-Porter + San Francisco Film Society Awards Night
On Monday, April 25, Net-a-Porter partnered with the San Francisco International Film Festival to host its annual fundraising gala and awards ceremony at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. A staple on S.F.’s event calendar for 59 years, the festival’s Film Society Awards Night drew cinema buffs and filmmakers to honor four lauded recipients of this year’s awards. Ellen Burstyn took home the Peter J. Owens Award for her storied 60-year acting career, Tom McCarthy—director and co-writer of Spotlight—received the Kanbar Award for excellence in storytelling, esteemed independent filmmaker and Academy Award nominee Mira Nair was honored with the Irving M. Levin Directing Award, and film veteran Peter Coyote received the George Gund III Craft of Cinema Award. San Francisco socials and Hollywood notables like Olivia Culpo and Jordana Brewster joined gala co-chairs Heidi Castelein and Victoria Raiser in celebrating the best and brightest in contemporary cinema at the black-tie gala, which benefitted the Film Society’s year-round film exhibitions, education initiatives, and filmmaker services.
