Build hosted an evening to honor Pinterest CEO Ben Silbermann at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Saturday, March 1. Comedian Baratunde Thurston introduced Build student presentations highlighting lessons the pupils had learned from the four-year college preparatory program. Angel investors Gayle and Ron Conway and tech venture capitalists from Khosla Ventures helped entrepreneur Pitch Johnson present Silbermann with the Pitch Prize for Entrepreneurship for the Pinterest mastermind’s visual discovery site. The evening also included a silent auction benefiting the college prep program with a mission to use entrepreneurship to motivate underprivileged high school students towards higher education.
