San Francisco General Hospital supporters gathered at the city’s famed Ferry Building to celebrate six works by California artists Wayne Thiebaud, Deborah Oropallo, Richard Diebenkorn, Paul Wonner, James Weeks and Elmer Bischoff auctioned by Sotheby’s from Bank of America’s collection of over 5,000 art pieces, on Wednesday, June 5. Sotheby’s Courtney Booth was on hand for the event that (in addition to a New York auction in May) raised more than $1 million for the hospital foundation. SFMOMA director Neal Benezra was also on hand, as were Pam and Larry Baer, longtime supporters of the city hospital.
