Meals on Wheels of San Francisco, Inc. hosted the 27th annual Star Chefs and Vintners Gala on Sunday, June 1 at the Fort Mason Center. Gala Chair Nancy Oakes, a James Beard Award winner, joined guests including Ken Fulk, Denise Hale and Gary and OJ Shansby at the event, where more than 100 of the Bay Area’s most distinguished toques created small bites and a three-course dinner, served alongside wines from more than 90 local vintners. Later, live and silent auctions with prizes including exotic vacations and private dinners with celebrity chefs were held to raise funds for the organization dedicated to supporting seniors in independent living.
