“It never snows in L.A., so I thought, ‘Well, why don’t we have some snow,'” said Tom Ford about his fall 2015 womenswear presentation held at Milk Studios in Los Angeles on Friday, February 20. The designer, who shows his collections during London’s fashion week, decided to invite the fashion caravan on a West Coast detour after the New York presentations ended and before the British designers sent models down runways in Europe. Perhaps to acclimate his audience to the warmer climate, he orchestrated flurries of milk-colored rose petals on the runway, and the effect had sun-soaked guests dreaming of white winters. The dark looks, a mix of patchwork denim, fur, and swirling graphic prints, contrasted perfectly with the bright posies.
