Stephanie Danan and Justin Kern, of the Los Angeles-based clothing line Co, have been on the style set’s radar for some time now. Ever since they launched their line of women’s minimalist separates in 2011, friends of the husband-and-wife team including actors Aubrey Plaza, Marisa Tomei, and Elodie Bouchez have been wearing their chic pieces, and inspiring others to inquire about them at dinners and cocktail parties. The designs are thoroughly modern, yet the shapes are quite classic. Now Danan, a former producer, and Kern, who worked as a screenwriter, are launching a pre-fall collection on Net-A-Porter that was designed in Co’s Arts District headquarters. Not to be missed is a pair of perfectly cut ivory culottes in bouclé-tweed, a blush-colored pleated crepe dress, and a ribbed cashmere cardigan ideal for cool summer nights. In this era of less is more, these easy pieces are quite timely indeed.
