Perfect Pairing: Camille Styles + Minted
“Before throwing a party, I always recommend creating a 24-hour timeline of everything you have to accomplish,” said blogger and author Camille Styles, at a party thrown by Minted at North Beach’s Cookhouse on Thursday, November 20. Natasha Lawler of the Bay Area-based design site gathered guests to fete Styles and her new book, Camille Styles Entertaining (William Morrow Cookbooks). Bloggers including Caitlin Flemming tried Styles’ holiday tips and tricks for food, decor, and entertaining. Styles also signed books and offered advice amid tables spread with Minted stationery, holiday cakes, hot cocoa, and cookies. “From setting a time that food needs to go into the oven, to restocking towels in the guest bathroom, to turning on music… being able to greet your guests relaxed and happy is the best way to start a party,” Styles said. While Styles has planned events ranging from intimate parties to lavish affairs, the hostess confessed that there are a few items she relies on for entertaining. “I almost always have champagne,” she said “And I always turn the music up just a little too loud. Not so that guests have to yell to be heard, but just enough to make people raise their voices a little bit, loosen up, and set the tone for a really fun party.” During the holiday season, Styles’ Spotify station is set to artists that guests of all ages can enjoy, such as Paul McCartney. Love we do.
