Perfect Pairing: Apolis + Stag
Just in time for summer, Raan and Shea Parton of menswear line Apolis have set up the 10th version of their Nomad Market—a traveling installation of clothing and accessories plus stories and films about the goods and where they are made—on Abbot Kinney inside Venice’s Stag. Shea credits the men’s apparel store with having “an incredible pulse on the Venice neighborhood,” an area the Southern California-based Parton brothers have loved since childhood. Among other apparel pieces, the Partons have created a Venice version of their reusable Market bag, crafted in Bangladesh of golden jute fiber with waterproof lining and vegetable-dyed leather straps attached with antique nickel rivets. The carryall, and the brand’s apparel sold at Stag, exemplifies the Apolis mission to empower struggling economies and create social change through industry rather than charity. The Nomad Market at Stag runs through July 15, so there is plenty of time to stock up on provisions before it travels on. Clearly, father’s day is in the bag.
