California Beauty: Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart’s cropped hair and J. Mendel dress sparked the look Los Angeles-based makeup artist Jillian Dempsey created with using Chanel for the New York premiere of Stewart’s new film, Camp X-Ray on Monday, October 6. “My inspiration for Kristen’s makeup came from her new haircut, along with her short beaded dress,” said Dempsey. “I wanted to play up her eyes, so I went for an edgy, sultry vibe by mixing charcoals and a shimmery aquamarine shade.”
FACE
“Chanel Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup SPF 15 in 40 Beige was used as the base, and then I followed with Lift Lumière Smoothing and Rejuvenating Eye Contour Concealer under her eyes.,” Dempsey said. “To give Stewart a clean, smooth look, I finished with a light application of Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color Powder in No. 20. On Stewart’s cheekbones, I gently brushed Chanel Powder Blush in Fandango and to contour I used the middle shade from Chanel Limited Edition Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Color SPF 15 in No. 01.”
EYES
“I started creating the eye look by covering Stewart’s lid with the off-black shade from the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Smoky Eyes. Then, in the outer corners of her eyes, I applied the dark, shimmery teal shade from Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Fascination. Next, I used the light blue-green shade from the same palette for the inner corners and lower lash line of her eyes. I used Jillian Dempsey Khol Eyeliner in Jet Black along Stewart’s upper lash line and blended it towards the outer corners of her eyes. I curled Stewart’s lashes and then applied several coats of Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir to the top and bottom lashes, making special emphasis on the top outer lashes.”
BROWS
“To define Stewart’s eyebrows, I used Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Cendré.”
LIPS
“Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Beige Satin was used to line Stewart’s lips, and I then applied Chanel Limited Edition Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Précieuse.”
