About Town: Lily Aldridge
L.A.-native Lily Aldridge might look familiar from tooling around town, or it might be because she’s conquered the cover of Vogue and the Victoria’s Secret runway. Now, the model and mom to daughter Dixie (with Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill) is exploring the design world with her first collection, Lily Aldridge for Velvet. She names her soft cotton tees, dresses, sweaters and outerwear after close friends and family, such as the Ruby military jacket for her sister, who models for Velvet by Graham & Spencer. The Culver City-based line will open their first L.A. retail store in Brentwood later this month where Aldridge’s collection will be available. Here, she poses at one of her favorite Hollywood haunts, Chateau Marmont. These are Lily’s favorite L.A. locales.
CHATEAU MARMONT I love having afternoon tea in the garden. I’ve been going there since I was a young girl, it’s so effortlessly cool and chic.
ANGELINI OSTERIA They have the best sea urchin pasta. It’s quite possibly my favorite dish in the world.
CURVE They have a great selection of designer clothes and I’m very excited they will be carrying my collection for Velvet.
LACMA Jazz night at the museum is a frequent springtime hangout with my family.
LITTLE NEXT DOOR My favorite place in L.A. for a lunch date with my father.
MÉCHE Tracey Cunningham has been doing my color since I was 14. She’s a genius.
EARTH BAR I go first thing in the morning and get a fresh juice. It’s a great way to start the day.
PCH I drive along it to take in the view.
