Indie eyewear producer Warby Parker celebrated the arrival of its first West Coast brick and mortar boutique at The Standard, Hollywood on Thursday, August 15. Founders Neil Blumenthal, Andrew Hunt, and David Gilboa welcomed Sophie Auster, Cillie Barnes, and Sid Khosla—talent selected by music supervisor Randall Poster and Standard Sounds’ Annie Ohayon—who each held impromptu performances throughout the hotel as part of its Artists in Residence program inspired by creatives who have dreamed up some of their most interesting work while sitting in hotels. From the pool deck, gathered guests including Spike Jonze, Tasya van Ree, Zoe Cassavetes, Chrissie Miller and Georgia Ford watched vintage-clad synchronized swimmers who plunged into a pool previously filled with a flotilla of striped beach balls.
